In one study, men were asked to rate the personalities of women whose images had been digitally altered to appear taller or shorter.

The results “are the first direct evidence that a woman’s height influences how people perceive her,” explained Dr. Simon Chu, one of the study’s authors.

The results of height studies don’t just favor tall women. In fact, they often show that men view short women just as positively.

While men may find tall women conventionally more attractive—even more intelligent—many view short women as “more nurturing and more suitable for mothering.”

According to Dobson, “men believe that shorter women are more attentive, caring, and family-oriented.”

This conclusion may stem from the basic assumption that short women are less intimidating.

Many short men have to overcome their fear of dating women who are taller than them. Many men find tall women more prestigious and shorter women more attractive.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, researchers believe that “short women with long legs” are empirically the most attractive “type.”

According to Dr. William Brown of Brunel University, “shorter, slimmer women with thinner limbs and larger breasts are considered more attractive.”

Dr. Brown explains this by the concept of body symmetry. While tall, slim women may look the most elegant on the catwalk, shorter, more proportioned women are actually more aesthetically pleasing.

Ultimately, height is just a number. However, whether you choose a tall or short woman can tell you what other qualities you find attractive.
